Snowy Mountains Alpine Walk
Guided Walking Tour
Explore Australia’s alpine heart with sweeping mountain vistas, glacial lakes, summer wildflowers, and epic stories. A pack-free high-country adventure with lodge accommodation, all meals, transfers, expert guiding and park fees included.
Summit Mount Kosciuszko, Australia’s highest peak, and complete the entire 56 km Snowies Alpine Walk on this fully guided four-day journey through Kosciuszko National Park.
Beginning beside the Snowy River at Guthega, the route leads through some of Australia’s most remarkable alpine landscapes. Walk among ancient snow gums, cross open high-country plains and follow mountain trails past glacial lakes, granite outcrops and fields of seasonal wildflowers. Along the way, discover Blue Lake, take in sweeping views from the Sentinel and stand on the summit of Mount Kosciuszko at 2,228 metres.
The challenging 21 km summit day is a highlight of the journey, combining many of the park’s most memorable places in one unforgettable walk. The remaining days explore quieter sections of the national park, from the snow gum forests and alpine meadows surrounding Charlotte Pass and Perisher to the ridgelines and river valleys leading towards Bullocks Flat.
This is a fully supported, pack-free experience, so you’ll carry only a daypack while our experienced guides take care of meals, transfers and daily logistics. Along the trail, we’ll share stories and insights into the region’s distinctive plants and wildlife, glacial landscapes, cultural heritage and high-country history.
Each evening, return to the comfort of Snowbird Lodge at Charlotte Pass. Settle into your private room, enjoy a freshly prepared dinner and relax with the group as the evening draws in over the mountains. Staying in one lodge throughout the walk means there is no need to pack and relocate each day—you can simply enjoy the walking and the alpine surroundings.
With a maximum of 10 guests, our small-group departures offer a friendly, personal experience and plenty of support throughout the journey. Solo travellers are very welcome. If you would prefer a room of your own, a single supplement of $500 is available.
