sustainability

We proudly hold an Ecotourism certification with Ecotourism Australia, this accreditation is given to ecologically sustainable tourism businesses whose primary focus is operating in natural areas. We believe that exploring the great outdoors should not only be enriching to ourselves but also leave a positive impact on the environment and local communities. That's why we are committed to integrating sustainable practices into every aspect of our operations.

Steps Towards Sustainability

We are continually striving to reduce our environmental impact and promote sustainability in all aspects of our business. Here are some of the steps we're taking:

Carbon Offsetting: We offset the carbon emissions generated by our operations, including transportation and energy consumption, by investing in carbon offset projects such as reforestation and renewable energy initiatives.

Minimal Waste Practices: We minimize single-use plastics and strive to reduce waste on our adventures by providing reusable or compostable alternatives whenever possible. We are proud to operate in the Bega Valley, a region that is leading the way in sustainable waste management. The FOGO (Food Organics Garden Organics) system implemented by the Bega Valley Shire Council. Through this system, organic waste is collected, composted, and returned to the earth as nutrient-rich soil, closing the loop on waste and promoting a circular economy.

Educational Initiatives: We believe in the power of education to inspire change. During our adventures, we provide insights into the local ecosystem, conservation efforts, and sustainable living practices to foster a deeper connection to nature and encourage stewardship. This includes following the 7 Principals of Leave No Trace.

Community Engagement: We actively engage with local communities, indigenous groups, and environmental organizations to support conservation efforts, cultural preservation, and sustainable development in the Bega Valley and beyond.
